The Henley Opportunity Index evaluates countries offering investment migration programs across six parameters: education quality, earning potential, career advancement, employment prospects, economic mobility, and livability. It serves as a benchmark for investors to compare additional residence and citizenship options and identify destinations that provide the strongest combination of ecosystems for future generations to thrive.
Applying the same methodology and data sources, we assessed Africa’s wealthiest nations, which revealed a striking disparity: despite their high regional wealth rankings, most scored below 30% in overall global opportunity.
By contrast, leading investment migration destinations on the Henley Opportunity Index perform far better, with Switzerland achieving 85%, Singapore 79%, and the USA 78%. This gap underscores the limited access African nationals face in education, mobility, and career pathways, while highlighting how investment migration can unlock transformative advantages — from global networks and higher earning potential to greater economic mobility and long-term prosperity.
